THE GIANTS WIN THE WILD CARD! THE GIANTS WIN THE WILD CARD! THE GIANTS WIN THE WILD CARD! [read out loud in Russ Hodges' voice]
Okay, so it’s not quite the National League pennant but who cares. The Giants won! Madison Bumgarner was brilliant! There were snotrockets! Celebrate!
Here are Madison Bumgarner’s snotrocket totals and other vital statistics for Wednesday, October 1, 2014 on the road vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates:
- W, 9.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K, 9 SNR (snotrockets): 0 vs. lefties, 6 vs. righties, 3 other. 1 pre-game SNR. 1 double SNR.
- Madison Bumgarner’s most prolific inning was the 4th in which he blew 3 snotrockets.
On Twitter tonight @SanDiegoGiants also came up a winner and produced some terrific snotrocket screencaps. It wasn’t easy either because the game was on ESPN and they’re infamous for their non-Giant Giants coverage so these postseason snotrocket screencaps are rare and to be savored even more so than usual. Here’s one from the 4th inning:
Another snotrocket from the same inning:
As the game wore on Bumgarner only got stronger, both in pitching and snotrocketing. The caption on this snotrocket screencap says it all:
An 8th inning long distance snotrocket:
How does Madison Bumgarner celebrate a superbly pitched post season complete game win? The way he celebrates every game he pitches:
And now for some bonus Bumgarner goodies. Here’s a thirsty Bumgarner celebrating after the win:
Here’s a couple of Vines of this awesomely awesome event:

And lastly, a gif with Bumgarner in it and he’s not even the star. Check out the little kid and his terrific at-bat in the stands behind home plate:
No wait, this is lastly. My feelings about tonight’s game and really every game that Madison Bumgarner pitches:
Madison Bumgarner’s next start should be Monday, October 6, 2014 at home vs. the Washington Nationals. See you here or on Twitter for all the exciting snotrocket action.
